Candidate for Texas Governor Bill White Speaks to Kids in San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO — Houston mayor and Democratic candidate for Texas governor, Bill White, spoke to high school seniors in the Edgewood school district in San Antonio, Texas, Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010. White is considered to be the only candidate who has a chance to oust the incumbent governor of Texas, Republican Rick Perry, who has been plagued with accusations of corruption and ethics violations.

WNBA Finals Game 2 – Detroit Shock vs. San Antonio Silver Stars

SAN ANTONIO — The Detroit shock went up two games to one in the five-game WNBA Finals series tonight as they beat the San Antonio Silver Stars 69 – 61 in San Antonio. The Shock’s Katie Smith posted 22 points on the night to lead her team to victory in the Alamo City. Chicago Wolves at San Antonio Rampage – American Hockey League

AMERICAN HOCKEY LEAGUE — The Chicago Wolves home-delivered a 5 – 1 drubbing to the San Antonio Rampage, Feb. 27, 2008, at the AT&T Center in San Antonio. The Rampage returned the favor two nights later with a 3 – 2 shootout win.

Barack Obama Begins Texas Campaign

2008 US presidential candidate Barack Obama made his first Texas campaign stop in San Antonio today, speaking before a crowd of thousands at the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center on the city’s West Side. Obama held a round table discussion about housing disparities, with members of the local community, before moving to the outdoor amphitheater to address the crowd.
